From Kronberg you first climb the Altkoenig, at 798 m above sea level the third highest peak of the Taunus. On the Altkoenig, which has been designated as a nature reserve, there are several historic temple complexes and ring walls that date back to around 400 BC. You continue on to the Feldberg, where you can stop for refreshments at the Feldberghaus (note the opening hours), before returning on the familiar trails.
