Thanks to the dense tree growth along the canal, even strong winds have hardly any influence on the "well-being" in smaller boats. Tour description: With its two barrages, the Rosenbeck and Eichhorst locks, the Werbellink Canal connects the Werbellinsee with the Finow Canal. The canal, built in 1765, became necessary when the demand for water increased dramatically due to the increasing volume of traffic on the Finow Canal and water became scarce in the Havel area. Today the canal is an Eldorado for leisure captains. From kayaks to yachts, everything is represented and you are rarely out and about alone. The locks are no problem even for laypeople. Both locks are operated automatically. There are mooring and refreshment stops in Eichhorst and at the 'Süßer Winkel' campsite on the Werbellinsee. You can swim at the Rosenbecker Schleusenteich and at the campsite at Werbellinsee. Boats can also be hired in Marienwerder and on the Werbellinsee (camping site 'Süßer Winkel'). For a small fee you can park in the marina Marienwerder and bring your own boat to the water.
