Ascent: first over alpine meadows and forest passages, later up to Entschenalpe on a tarred alpine path. At the junction to the Gaisalpe / Stützel, follow the farm road a short distance, then there are signs again pointing the way up to the Falkenalpe. From there to the Schnippenkopf. Beautiful all-round view of the Illertal, the Hörnerkette, the Kleinwalsertal, the Allgäu High Alps, Rotspitze, Retterschwangertal, Oberjoch, Hirschberg to Grünten. The path to the Heidelbeerkopf leads over a somewhat exposed, splintery point, right below the summit, down to the ridge. The mountain path leads over the Heidelbeerkopf over to the Sonnenkopf. Continue over the Schnippe to the signposted junction via the Diana hunting lodge back down to the starting point.
