This hike leads to the impressive Hinanger waterfalls, a natural monument in the Oberallgäu.
The trail first leads through lush Allgäu mountain meadows and then climbs into a deeply carved forest gorge. A particular highlight is the main waterfall, where the water plunges twelve meters over a mighty limestone tuff edge. The path runs spectacularly directly behind the falling veil of water. Rare mosses and ferns can often be seen in the damp crevices of the gorge, while fire salamanders can be spotted along the path in the evening. As the paths in the gorge are often damp, slippery and stony, sturdy footwear with a non-slip treaded sole and sure-footedness are required.
