The beautiful town of Mittenwald is the highest climatic health resort in Germany. This beautiful hike leads from there first to the Luttensee lake and delights with wonderful views of the peaks of the Karwendel.
The route continues uphill to the St. Anton mountain inn, which is a great place to stop for refreshments. The lovingly designed barefoot hiking trail on the Hoher Kranzberg starts here. Without shoes, the trail leads to 24 exciting stations where those feet will experience a lot. Walking barefoot is fun for the whole family and strengthens muscles and joints.
Another scenic gem along the route is the deep blue glistening Lautersee lake, surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. In summer, it's worth packing a swimming costume, as swimming is permitted on the eastern and southern shores of the lake. There is also the option of taking a pedalo for a spin.
Through the idyllic Laintal valley, following the course of the Lainbach stream, the loop leads to the impressive Lainbach waterfall and past the rock garden back to Mittenwald. The route can be reached by bus and train (access from Mittenwald train station). There are places to stop for refreshments.
