Atmospheric ascent to the Brecherspitz from Fischhausen-Nehhaus, Bavaria.
It starts at the Fischhausen-Neuhaus train station, which can be easily reached from Munich with the BOB (Bayerische Oberland Bahn).
The ascent runs on forest roads over the Ankelalm up to the summit of the Brecherspitze. During the Alm season, the Alm is managed except on Mondays and invites you to stop by.
The last stretch to the summit is more demanding and requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. A magnificent view awaits as a reward. From the summit, the descent begins via the west ridge. The path is secured with steel cables in two short passages. At the end of the west grade, it goes down to the Obere Firstalm and towards the Spitzingsee saddle. Buses also run from here to Fischhausen-Neuhaus train station. If you want to continue on foot, follow the road towards the valley. There is a hiking trail leading down towards Neuhaus & Josefstal.
Especially the last stretch to the summit requires sure-footedness and a head for heights. Sturdy shoes are recommended.
