Fun via Ferrata in the Bavarian Alps, Bavaria.
One of the classics in the Bavarian Alps is the Alpspitze or Alpspitz Ferrata via Ferrata. The trail is suitable for adults and children accompanied by adults. The starting point is the mountain station of the Alpspitzbahn at the foot of the Alpspitze.
After just a few meters of ascent, the striking bracket ladder of the Alpspitz Ferrata is reached. More wire ropes and a few brackets lead to the grassy ledge from where you have a great view of Höllental and across to the Zugspitze. The path continues up to the Alpspitze via secured areas (in relatively flat terrain!). Slightly to the left over the ridge, it goes to the west flank of the Alpspitze before a last longer row of brackets up to the summit cross.
The summit of the Alpspitze (highest point 2628m) offers a magnificent view of the Höllental, the Zugspitze (the highest mountain in Germany), the Zugspitz region, the Ammergau Alps, the Wettersteingebirge and Mieminger chain and down to Garmisch-Partenkirchen - with good visibility; this is enough View even as far as Munich!
The way down is not as pleasant as the ascent via Ferrata. It goes over the screen of the east ridge and the rope-secured north face climb. It is very steep, with many loose rocks and fewer climbing places.
