This route leads through the idyllic foothills of the southern Black Forest to the east of Freiburg. The trail opens up the scenic mountain ranges between the Hexental and Dreisamtal valleys and runs along a varied mix of wide forest paths and near-natural forest trails. At the Brombergsattel, the panorama opens up deep into the Black Forest to the Schauinsland and Feldberg. Deer and various species of woodpecker can be observed in the sparse mixed forests, while the mountain meadows are rich in orchids and wild herbs in early summer. The route has moderate but steady inclines, but remains pleasant to walk on thanks to the good composition of the path.
