Best paved trails in Southern Black Forest Nature Park

The last stage of the Southern Black Forest Cycle Path from Kirchzarten to Hinterzarten is only just under 27km long, but requires quite a bit of stamina with quite a few meters of altitude to be overcome. This trail begins in Basel at the train station and then leads directly to the banks of the consistently present Rhine. It follows the river flow for a short distance and then continues past the foothills of the big city to Herten. This route is part of Euro-velo 15 Rhine Cycle Route. Through idyllic villages and always along the river, the Rhine Cycle Route takes you to the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen and on to the art city of Basel.
