Best trails near Steinbruch Dünkelberg

History-charged loop on the Ruhr, North Rhine-Westphalia. The route follows the traces of mining past old collieries and tunnels to the medieval castle ruins of Hardenstein, which are picturesquely situated directly on the Ruhr. Leisurely bike tour near Witten Not the most demanding route, but partly on the beautiful "Rheinischer Esel" route. On the long loop we went into a wooded area where there were wagons and other interesting things from the mining industry. It's worth stopping now and again to enjoy the view.
