Best trails near Arenberg

A scenic hiking trail in Witten, North Rhine-Westphalia. The starting point is the Kohlensiepen hiking car park. First over the Wartenberg and then along the foot of the Arensberg. Then back via Borbach. Highlights of the route: - Pretty natural landscapes - Local flora and fauna - Nice prospects

First it goes slightly up the mountain behind the stream to the hiking trail H6. It continues on the hiking trail H6 until after about 3.7 km where you turn right downhill to the road. On the other side of the stream it goes steeply uphill to the Kalmerskopf (231 m). Then it goes on and you come back to hiking trail H6. After about 6.2 km it goes back over the ridge (H6). Here you have a good view on both sides. After about 8 km it goes downhill quite steeply to the tarred road.

This route makes an eight on the Arenberg. The Arenberg is a low-lying, wooded hill between Wetter and Witten. It's a relatively easy walk on forest trails. It is ideal for walking, running or taking the dog for a walk. The area is also very beautiful in winter when snow covers the trees.
