Best trails near Hochalpenkopf

This is a stage with a thoroughly alpine character. At the start, it goes uphill through mixed mountain woodland – alternatively, treat yourself to a trip up with the Hochplatte lift – whereupon the track soon becomes more rocky and somewhat exposed. Via Alpina moves along below the Hochalpkopf and the rocky Raffen, before the little Steinlingalm pasture invites you to have a rest. Promising circular hike to the Hochplatte and the Kampenwand. This strenuous mountain hike leads to several peaks with great views. After a first short ascent, you pass the Oberauerbrunstalm, which is open on weekends and on nice days. The hike is characterized by beautiful panoramic views and highlights such as waterfalls and caves along the way.

Starting point: parking lot at the festival hall (620 m) First climb towards Kampenwand in the forest until you come to a ski slope. On this further direction Hirschenstein, past this and to the Kampenwandbahn (1460 m). Past the Sonnenalm and Kampenwandhütte (1500 m) to the Steinlingalm (1448 m). Continue past the eastern summit of the Kampenwand towards the Hochalpenkopf to start the return journey from there.

From Marquartstein it goes over the Grassauer Hütte to the south side of the Kampenwand. From there you can continue hiking towards the Kampenwandhütte; However, the route from Kampenwand is no longer signposted with the 205.

This route is stage 19 of the Maximiliansweg, a long-distance trail through Germany, beginning at the Sonnenalm on the Kampenwand and ending at the Hochgernhaus. The tour begins overseas and leads to Rottau. From there you go to the Steinlingalm directly under the Kampenwand. After a short break, past the small chapel, around the Kampenwand, towards the Piesenhausener Hochalm. !!Danger!! In this section, the bike has to be carried most of the time (approx. 1.5 hours) and you have to overcome a few meters of altitude on gravel and washed-out paths. So nothing for beginners, only something for experienced mountain bikers.
