This is the seventh stage of the Donau-Zollernalb-Weg quality trail, which runs for almost 160 km from Beuron in the Danube Valley to the Lemberg and crosses the highest part of the Swabian Alb once. The seventh stage starts in Winterlingen and the hike ends in the Albstadt Ebingen. For this route you should bring some stamina and sturdy shoes, as it includes some quite steep climbs. Starting in Pfeffingen, it first goes on part of the World Cup course, which is technically quite demanding. Then you continue on a number of climbs and descents around the Albstadt. The route is characterized by an "infinite" number of serpentines.

The Albtrauf Trail starts in the city center of Tailfingen, in front of the Volksbank Tailfingen and leads over a short start loop directly to the special sprint ranking at the “brewery stairs”. Once at the top, it goes a few meters through the residential area and then into the terrain. To warm up there is the first meters of altitude from the Eyach spring towards Zitterhof and on the plateau the trail follows the edge of the forest towards “Irrenberg” to overcome the Albtrauf downwards. This is a relatively long loop around the town of Tailfingen (and others like Onstmettingen and Pfeffingen). It explores the fields, forests, hills and towns of the area, going in and out of different environments. It also passes various local mountain peaks, including the Hornau and the Kornberg, both of which are almost 900 meters high. Due to the length of the trail, the best way to do it is by bike.
