The Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park is one of the most water-rich regions in Brandenburg. As many as 180 lakes, including half of Brandenburg's clear water lake area, are located in Brandenburg's newest large protected area. It includes the Rheinsberg lake district and Ruppiner Schweiz.

The visitor center can be found in Menz. The so-called NaturParkHaus shows interactive exhibitions that are interesting for young and old. From October to April, the visitor center is open during the week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and on weekends/holidays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. From May to September, the opening hours are extended by one hour until 5 pm.
