#3 - Dahme-Heideseen nature park
Brandenburg, GermanyThe Dahme-Heideseen Nature Park has existed since 1998 and is located in the southeast of Berlin. The heart of the 594 km² park are the Dahme-Heideseen, also known as Dahmeland. The landscape with its over 100 lakes, large and small rivers, springs, moors and hills was shaped by the Ice Age and people have left their mark here with their centuries of work. You can discover the varied nature on foot, by bike or even on the water or simply relax away from the noise of the big city. The nature park comprises 25 nature reserves and 30 fauna-flora-habitat areas and is inhabited by a large number of protected animal species - such as several breeding pairs of eagles. At Storkow Castle there is a visitor center (BIZ) with tourist information, where you can get tips for family excursions or see the exhibition "Man and nature - a journey through time". Opening times are from November to March daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., from April to October daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Adults € 4.50, children up to 6 years free, students up to 17 years € 2.00). There is also an information point in Heidesee, Prieros district.
