Trail reviews for Gros Morne National Park
Out and back on the Tablelands trail Gros Morne National Park NL Canada
Nice in and out. Leads up to the famous Gros Morne boat tour. Nice clean and friendly restaurant. Bathrooms are also very decent.
Expect some muddy conditions and areas where there is some overgrowth of bushes into the trail. Nothing there walking by doesn’t push aside but if you’re wearing shorts it might scratch you a bit. I found this an easy hike with steady level and small level changes. Didn’t plan to come to Gros Morne on this trip and came by a whim not exactly packed suitably - I did this hike in converse platform high tops and had no issues.
Mostly along a boardwalk and a few muddy spots along the way. Be sure to take the Bakers Pond loop section for nice views of Gros Morne Mountain and the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. Several informative stops and a few benches to rest if needed. I clocked just at 7 miles because we left from the campground at site 19. I’d recommend the trail to everyone.
Nice trail to the top with views around a loop of the gulf, cove, rocky harbour, mountains (nice ones of Gros Morne) and surrounding area. Only a couple of steep climbs up stairs mostly.
Sept 14 and not a soul on the trail! This was probably our most favourite hike in Gros Morne right near where we camped in Green Point. The views were so beautiful along this coastline which was another old Mail road. It was an extremely easy hike with the exception of some rocky areas. However, it’s a flat hike which made it very doable for beginners. We loved it.
