Do the loop, worth the walk

Easy... flat trail that rewards you with a beautiful fjord! A little too touristy! Busy

Great scenic hike! Short but sweet! Served its purpose!

Some pretty scenery but as others have mentioned, this is mostly just the hike to get to the tour boat. Western Brook Pond is stunning, so if you’re taking the tour, the ends more than justify the means. If you’re not taking the tour, this trail isn’t a complete waste of time but should be down your list of priorities while at Gros Morne.

Fun one hour hike through mars like landscape. Bit rocky at times. We stopped at the discovery centre before going on this hike. We learned about the history of the Tablelands and it's ecosystems. It made the hike a lot more interesting!

Extension saddle trail to the top of the hill. Lovely moderate hike with great view.

Muddy at the beginning. Steady climb for about 2km. Yes the views become increasing spectacular but the trail resembles a logging cut line- not overly interesting. Once on top the views are great and the boardwalk part of the trail was very cool. Do it once, not a repeater for me.

Nice walk, not much elevation so easy to have a chat as you go. A bit muddy and closed in for the first half but real nice after it opens up. A couple of small nice beaches to stop at along the way.

An easy walk to check out a loaded backpack. A simple warmup walk. No vertical. Nice shoreline vistas. Bouldery beaches and coastal ponds.

Scenery like no other for very little effort. Watch those rocks.

A must see in Gros Morne. This is one of the only places in the world you can see the earths mantle. The trail is flat and on a boardwalk, super easy! We hiked further at the end which made it more challenging..

We picked up the tablet guide from the Discovery Centre which helped explain what we were seeing. It was quite windy near the end of the trail. Beautiful scenery, interesting rocks and flora.

Take your time and the views will be worth it. New switchbacks lead to some nice views as well.

Raining on our hike but still beautiful.

Great hike - beautiful scenery!

This is more of a walk than a hike. It is a 3 km out and back trail on a well maintained crushed gravel road which has recently been upgraded. We walked the trail to get to the boat launch for the Western Brook Pond tour by Bontours. It is a very easy walk and you can see the Western Brook Pond fjords along the way. While we highly recommend the boat tour to fully explore the Pond and fjords, the walk is still worthwhile to see the landscape of the area.

We joined the Parks Canada guided hike of the Tablelands. Our guide, Gail, was fabulous and this hike was one of the highlights of our trip to Gros Morne because of the knowledge and passion she shared with us. The hike is fairly easy, mostly flat and great for all ages. We learned about the geological characteristics of this unique area and its connection to the rest of Gros Morne. The guided hike is about 1.5 hours out as you stop frequently, but only takes 30 minutes to return. We highly recommend the guided hike as we gained so much more insight into the Tablelands than if we simply completed this hike on our own.

We hiked Lookout Trail with our 7 and 10 year old children. The hike up has some steep areas, but the trail conditions are very good. A nice mix of forested and wetland areas with amazing panoramic views at the top. We picked blueberries and relaxed in the Muskoka chairs. We highly recommend this trail. We spent approximately 3 hours on the trail, but took our time and enjoyed relaxing and taking photos of the views at the peak.

Great boardwalk with some spectacular views. Overall easy walk

Very scenic trail. Western Brook Pond is the most amazing place I have ever seen.

This walking trail is 5kms (2.5kms to boat tour dock). Used to be a trail through the forest, but parks Canada made a fine gravel road (great for accessibility purposes). Boring walk, beautiful view of the fjord once you reach the dock.

I’d recommend this trail to anyone who would like to have a panoramic view of the area. While the trail will require some time to get to the top, it will be time well spent. Currently there is work being done on this trail but it does not hinder ones hike. Also, the trail can be muddy in areas if wet and care should be taken on sections of the boardwalks.

I wouldn’t do this trail unless going down to the harbour to catch the cruise of the fjord. Having said that however, it’s an easy stroll on a wide, gravel path with a few very gentle slopes.

Easy stroll to a beautiful vista of the sea. If you go down to the beach you can check out the geological wonders, but I didn’t bother. Cute little grouping of outbuildings and home by the water.

Beautiful, unique landscape and super easy trail. If I’d been prepared, I would have gone beyond and up into the bowl, but I had other hikes to do. If you’re going to go further, I’d suggest hiking boots with ankle support because it’s really rocky and going off trail just a little bit in my hiking shoes, made for very unstable footing.

These trails are more of a stroll than a hike. There are some pretty views and a very magical spot hidden amongst the trees. The history of the lighthouse is cool to check out. Some mornings the Parks Canada lead a group of people down to the water where you’re given a bucket and net to explore the tidal pools. You bring your bucket back and they explain your findings. They have some other programs as well that may be worth checking out and doing in conjunction with the trails.
