The trail is a great way to witness the remarkable seasonal variations that form the Mallee desert. Particularly spectacular in spring, as the rains bring the addition of wildflowers blooming and previously dry lakes now teem with Malleefowl, Cockatoos, Mallee Ring-neck Parrots, and waterbirds.
The trail starts from the end of Black Flat Track. The track surface is predominately sand with some grassy segments. There is an unsealed carpark right near where the trail begins.
