Victoria, Australia Map

busy but great walk.

It’s actually called the Kyema trail, named after an aircraft that crashed into the mountain in the 1930’s. Macarthur Job wrote an excellent book about the crash and the effects this had on Australian politics and air navigation safety. There is a small memorial about 500m short of the Mt Dandenong summit.
Good city views and full mobile coverage along this track.

As Michelle Griffin stated it perfectly. Wading through waist deep fern foliage and climbing tree fern avenues. Amazing magical place. This will be a regular for me. This is a track for some one with endurance fitness.

nice walk , just enough for a pleasent day trip.

It started mostly downhill so all I could think about the fact it’s a loop and that means there’s going to be uphill to get back. I’m not fit at all and probably should have started with an “easy” track but this was achievable and fun. Glad I made it lol.

Hiked Walhalla - Poverty Point - Thomson station - Walhalla (18.5km). Track is overgrown with blackberries for much of the way and there are lots of fallen trees you have to scramble over or under. Pretty scenery, and a few snakes along the way. Mostly flat except for a cracker of a hill as you depart Thomson towards Walhalla

Super challenging on the way up, but definitely well worth it with heaps of amazing foliage and scenery. well worth the trip to the top!

Nice easy trail with a few small inclines to help get the heart rate up a bit. Not many views of the lake (dam) though - winds mostly through bush land and very much a constructed area. Not quite what we were after on the day but also beautiful picnic areas and other walks/activities to take advantage of ☺️

Also, track is mostly exposed to weather so remember your hat and sun cream!

Beautiful scenery. Need to cross over several roads at points, but just look out for the orange markers. Some fallen trees to step/climb over. Out is slightly downhill, and back slightly uphill.

I loved this walk. Especially the Lyre birds! They are amazing. For those that don’t do a lot of exercise I would imagine some of the hills rather challenging. I did use a weighted pack on this walk and enjoyed it and found it still easy. I will be doing it again.

Great easy trail, our dog loved it too. Completed in 1 hour with a fast pace.

Worthwhile walk, enjoyed the sights. Enjoyed the pub at the end. Lots of rocks in sections and trail in the shade most of the way.

Not heaps of shade, but regular water. We did two laps with our dogs (so about 10km) pretty busy with a park run on but all in all a good morning walk

Way too many people for my taste. So many walks that you can work as hard as this one on without the (unfriendly) crowds. I prefer a track where people say, “hi”, as you cross paths over this which feels a bit them and us.

busy walk not a quiet stroll, I didnt do the steps but walked on the side track and it had alot of gravel, take poles if you have them to avoid slipping.

Great walk, views and wildlife! Saw and echinda!!!
Track not well marked and no water along the route.
Lots of different types of terrain to keep things interesting.

Beautiful local walk

Great circuit around the city! Southbank to Docklands could get packed and dodging tourists is a big test of patience.

Great track very small water fall

This is a regular track I do most weeks for fitness. I usually carrying weight 10-15kg as part of my training. The weight makes it more challenging than it already is. Best time without weight was 23:52 mins to the top. With weight about 35-45 mins. Great views at the top and so much quieter than the thousand stairs

Tracks are not well marked and vary from wide well formed tracks to very (very!) narrow and overgrown trails. Need moderate fitness and stable footwear/knees for all the downhill

Lovely views along the coast; a good workout with the hills but not overly difficult. Love the general store at Kilcunda for a lunch stop. Have to return the same route which is the only shame.

Check where you are regularly as tracks are not marked well . Some steep sections and watch out for mountain bikes on the smaller trails. Need moderate fitness. We managed to see two lyrebirds, black wallaby and plenty of birds. Good footwear required.

It was a good walk. The tracks are well defined and it is kid friendly.

good walking track
I'm fit
it took me 1hr 40min

We did this easily with a 3 year old and 5 year old.

Great walk. Bring plenty of water

Was a really good hike. Sand and dirt. Beautiful views throughout of the hills, the woods and the ocean. The beach is a must stop by, pretty heavy waves so be careful.

quite a boring trail. good for a walk with kids i guess. and possibly good on a bike.. whole track is tarmac path.

nice walk. easy enough to complete to low fitness levels. sandy roads are well maintained. last quater of the walk will be difficult during high tides. plan to walk through at low tides.
and bring bug spray if walking through summer months.. march flies are a real pain!
