Trail reviews for Mount Buffalo National Park
This is the best 1.5 hour family trail walk we've done in a while. Mount Buffalo National Park is amazing. Much of this walk takes you through absolutely WONDERFUL forest with huge trees, several STUNNING lookout locations, great trails and lookout platforms and although there were a couple of challenging uphill sections, the steps were well established and the brief stints of "hard work" made the lookouts and forests that much more enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WALK!
Great scenic walk at Mount Buffalo National Park with spectacular views of granite cliff faces and Crystal Brooks Falls.
A perfect way to end the day at Mount Buffalo. A relatively easy walk, but a steep climb up stairs that follow to the upper Falls. You'll be lucky to see an endemic species only to this terrain, altitude and mountain - Acacia phlebophylla | Buffalo Sallow Wattle. A discovery any ecologist would cherish.
What an incredible experience hiking the Horn of Mount Buffalo (Tubbalunganer) with extreme frost, wind and rain! Although I couldn't see the marvellous views of the Alps of the Great Dividing Range as you would see on a clear day, it was such a surreal experience. Climbing wet granite boulders is a challenge in itself.
great hike around Mount Buffalo Plateau. I was supposed to do an anti-clockwise circuit along Madison Galleries Track and then Rocky Creek Track, but I ended up taking a wrong turn and arrived at Rocky Creek Campground after reaching the summit of Mount Dunn. By the time I got there, it was only around 2 pm, so I decided to go up to Madison Galleries instead (I saved a lot of water before leaving Rocky creek). The stay at the galleries was amazing – the view was incredible, and it was a quiet night. On the second day, I went up the Madison Galleries Track to Eagle Point and then back to the starting point. It was relatively easy. In summary, I made a mistake, but I was so happy to see how I recovered from it.
