The aptly named Bird Billabong is in the Mary River National Park, between the Mount Bundey Hills and the Mary River.
The easy walk is about 2.5km to reach the viewing platform. where, If lucky, you can spot magpie geese, ducks, Jabiru, herons, ibis and other waterbirds who occupy the billabong. The billabong is usually flooded in the wet season (February/March) and can be completely dry in October. You need to time your visit well to see all the birds.

This is a scenic loop around a billabong near Marrakai, Northern Territory. It starts at the car park/picnic area and is then an easy walk around the Mary River Billabong, with an optional 400-metre deviation to the banks of the Mary River.
