This is a great short walk near Darwin in the Northern Territory. Walking in an anticlockwise direction rather than climbing up the steps is recommended.
There are some stairs to the Treetop Platforms; then a short climb brings you to the top of the escarpment. Travelling along the escarpment takes you over the feeder creek for Wangi Falls, then down the many formed rock steps to the base of the falls.
There is a small waterfall on the way down. Wangi Falls is a favourite swimming spot,...

This is a beautiful short stroll near Darwin in the Northern Territory. The route follows a trail along the creek to the falls and a plunge pool that feeds into it, with some stairs to get to the top.
The swimming hole holes can fill quickly, so avoid crowds early. Unfortunately, the viewing platform for the lookout at the waterfall is obscured by trees. The car park is on the smaller side.
The area downstream of the falls is a sacred site, so swimming is prohibited. Stick to the pools at...

This is a great short walk near Darwin in the Northern Territory. The trail uses a paved stone path that crosses Florence Creek several times and is largely in the shade, hence the walk's name.
It passes the Florence Falls plunge, which is very popular with swimmers. Before climbing 135 stairs out of the gorge, the trail goes past the falls lookout and onto the trailhead at the car park, which is a decent size with spots for caravans and toilet facilities. Go early to avoid the...

This is a fantastic walk in Litchfield National Park. The track starts at the Florence Falls Campsite and follows Florence Creek Track through the bush to the popular Buley Rockhole.
The rockholes, named after Norman Buley, are a relaxing set of rock pools with a picturesque swimming area. Get there early to avoid crowds, as there is limited space. To extend the walk, you can link this with the Buley Rockhole loop. Highlights of the walk include Buley Rockhole and Florence Falls.

This is a fun walk with some rock hopping near Darwin in the Northern territory. This out and back heads to the upper cascades and a series of swimming holes. The initial 500m is a wide, flat, easy trail that then forks - the left trail is to the Lower Cascades and the right to the Upper Cascades.
Taking the trail to the right, composed of loose rocks, and going through a shaded monsoon forest, begins a steep climb to the top of the escarpment with expansive views. The trail then levels out...

This is a great short walk near Darwin in the Northern Territory. The loop walk includes the popular overlook of Tolmer Falls. Rather than a return walk to just the lookout, this route follows the gorge above Tolmer Creek in a loop back to the car park.
Tolmer Falls cascades over two high cliffs into a plunge pool and is a spectacular sight. Plus, it’s one of many must-see waterfalls within Litchfield National Park.
Although the name suggests a walk along Tolmer Creek, it only approaches...

This is a terrific walk in Litchfield National Park, just a short distance from Darwin, Northern Territory. The walk is relatively easy with a couple of steep climbs up formed rock steps.
The track starts following the creek; however, the later stages of the trail move away into the savannah woodland; these areas are generally more exposed and hotter. Visitors will find many beautiful spots along the creek and a platform walkway through a section of Monsoon Forest.
Be sure to pack your...

This is a fantastic multi-day walk for prepared bushwalkers near Darwin in the Northern Territory. The route follows a circuit in Litchfield National Park through an arid and often burnt landscape punctuated by beautiful waterfalls, waterholes, and creeks.
Three "link tracks" provide access to the Tabletop Track (which adds to the overall length of the walk). The Florence Falls link track is the shortest access track. There are others from Greenant Creek, Wangi Falls and Walker...

A 3.5km easy walk that is near Darwin in the Northern territory.
A wet creek crossing 50 to 75 metres long is required shortly after turning onto the Reynolds 4WD track off the Litchfield Park Rd. After the crossing, there are several kilometres along a 4WD only road to reach the trailhead near the campground. Due to difficult access, these falls attract fewer visitors compared to many others in the park
Easy walk along a narrow rocky trail, most of which is shaded. The falls plunge pool...

Trail reviews for Litchfield National Park
Lovely and shady at the beginning/ end of the trail. One of my favourite swimming spots in Litchfield. At 10.30 (weekday) we were alone up there. By the time we were leaving two families were arriving and we passed a lot of people on the way down. It would have been very crowded by midday.
