You hike this in one of two stages. After leaving Kreuzau, you will walk towards Obermaubach. Enjoy a beautiful view of the reservoir Obermaubach Reservoir, at the lookout point "Engelsblick". On the way back through field and forest, hike along Bogheim the Eifelblick "Schafsbenden" with distant views over the Voreifel. Next emjoy panoramic views over the Ruraue to the Rhine Valley.

Segment 2 of the StauSeeSteig runs along the Obermaubach reservoir to Rursee. This is segment 2 of the StauSeeSteig, starting from Obermaubach.
