Popular hiking trail in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. From the Tourist Information you walk downhill in the direction of Walching (Iglhaut bakery) past the Pfeiffer sports shop. After the disco tavern, turn left and pass the Hussite Island, a small facility with hiking information and benches. This route starts in Rittsteig and explores the area near the Czech border. It loops through the fields and forests of the area and circles two hills, Auf der Schanz and Steineisen. On the way you can see as far as the Czech Republic. The hike is within the boundaries of the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park.
