You can start at the Bastei car park, which is subject to a charge, and then make your way to the fascinating rock formations. The route follows a relaxed forest path to the Lohmen car park, where it turns right onto the Bastei road. As the name suggests, it leads to the famous Bastei and the Bastei Bridge with magnificent viewpoints and optional detours. The panoramic restaurant also invites you to stop for a bite to eat before descending into the Amselgrund. The Amselsee lake is no less idyllic. A further ascent follows after the valley to the third highlight - the Schwedenlöcher. The Schwedenlöcher are a popular excursion destination in Saxon Switzerland. Through rocky alleyways, over 700 steps and a few iron ladders, you make your way up through the gorge-like ravine.
