Uttewalder Grund - Felsentor - Schwedenlöcher - Amselfall

Varied hiking trail in the Saxon Switzerland National Park, Saxony. This varied route leads into the Elbe Sandstone Mountains on the Brückwaldweg. It starts in Lohmen and leads along the Malerweg through the Uttewalder Grund. The Uttewalder Grund is one of the "old famous" and most beautiful gorges in Saxon Switzerland and leads to the Uttewalder Felsentor (Uttewalder Rock Gate), which amazed people as early as the 1800s. The route continues along another gorge path to the Steinerner Tisch (Stone Table), to the marker: "Aussichts-Pausenplatz" (Pavilion View), down through the Schwedenlöcher (Swedish Holes) and then up again to the Amselfall. Descend into the adventurous, gorge-like Schwedenlöcher gorge through rocky alleyways, over 700 steps and several iron ladders. We then return to Lohmen via the Nicolaiweg.
