The hike starts at the Wieker Weg car park and heads north into the Osterwald forest. Attentive observers may spot fallow deer among the trees here. From the border triangle, the route continues along the border path into the forest. Once you reach the so-called Plattenkreuz, continue westwards along the Kavaliersschneisse. From the path, you can follow the development of the rain moor following the implementation of the renaturalisation measures. On the way to the Müggenburg district, a short detour to the rare sequoia trees is worthwhile. The path leads through Müggenburg to the Bodden dyke. Here there are numerous views of the southern Bodden coast and the island of Kirr. Follow the dyke path back to the car park.
