The meeting point for the hike is the centre of Haibühl (also possible in the centre of Ottenzell). Follow Engelshütter Straße towards Arrach for about 400 metres, then turn right towards Ottenzell. In the centre of Ottenzell, the path continues to the right into Birkenstraße. From here, the path climbs steadily uphill to the Kolmstein with its Stations of the Cross. Worth seeing here is the "Kolmsteiner Kircherl" pilgrimage chapel with the former plague cemetery. From here, follow the Ar08 trail markings for approx. 500 metres to the left towards Höllkreuz. The descent to Stadlern in Ottenzell begins immediately afterwards, turning left again. From here, you reach the starting point in the centre of Haibühl along the same route. You can stop for refreshments at Gasthof Kolmsteiner Hof, Gasthof Achatz in Ottenzell or Gasthof Meindl in Haibühl.
