Varied hut hike from the Schneibsteinhaus to the Gotzenalm, Bavaria.
This hut hike leads from the Schneibsteinhaus, situated on the Austrian-German border, to the Gotzenalm. Both huts are open seasonally in the summer months and spoil their guests with hearty food and overnight accommodation (book in advance!).
From the Schneibsteinhaus, the trail climbs steeply uphill past the Carl-Von-Stahl-Haus via a typically narrow footbridge to the 2275 metre-high Schneibstein. After enjoying the magnificent view, the trail descends to the Seeleinsee lake past the Windschattenkopf.
From here, another fairly steep climb awaits you to the Kahlersberg turn-off before you finally head downhill on the bridleway and along fairly level paths to the Gotzenalm. Panoramic views of the famous Königssee await you there.
