The Schneibstein is a 2275 metre high mountain in the Hagengebirge. The route to the summit is a moderately difficult mountain hike that requires surefootedness, a head for heights and sturdy footwear. There is also little shade on the tour.
From the Hinterbrand car park (subject to a charge), the route initially follows well-maintained farm tracks until you reach the steep (ski) slopes of the Jenner ski run. The route continues via the Mitterkaseralm, which is open seasonally, towards the Stahlhaus (open all year round). From here, the route changes to a typically rugged, narrow mountain path up to the summit. There you can take a breather and admire the large mountain cinema. You can spend the night in one of the huts if you book in advance, or return directly along the same route.
