This is the third stage of the certified SaaleHorizontale quality trail, a wonderful hike through the Saale valley with start and finish in Jena.
The third stage of the long-distance hiking trail starts in Beutnitz and ends in Dornburg. There is not much time to warm up here: the first kilometers are quite steep up to the Zietschkuppe. After that, however, you hike comfortably through the idyllic Tautenburg Forest for the most part. In the Kneipp pool at the Stockborn spring, your feet can look forward to a well-deserved break. There are places to stay overnight and restaurants.
