The partial stage begins in Cranzahl and then leads in a south-westerly direction along the German-Czech border. The route goes through the municipality of Oberwiesenthal, which offers a great stopover. With a height of 914m, it is the highest city in Germany and also known as an exciting winter sports destination. After passing through the municipality of Johanngeorgenstadt, the route ends in the music city of Klingenthal, which is home to the oldest harmonica manufacturer in the world that is still in production.
