Lausche Nature Reserve and Nonnenfelsen Rock Formation

This spectacular borderland tour leads through the Zittau Mountains, Germany's smallest low mountain range, directly on the border with the Czech Republic. The path explores two of the region's most prominent peaks: the Lausche (793 m), the highest mountain east of the Elbe, and the bizarre Nonnenfelsen (Nun's Rocks). The course follows a demanding mixture of steep forest trails, narrow rock stairs, and panoramic paths along the ridge sections. A highlight is the 360-degree view from the Lausche tower over the Bohemian highlands to the Giant Mountains, as well as the rugged rock world of the Nonnenfelsen with its deep chasms. Due to the steep ascents and rocky passages, the route requires good physical condition and surefootedness.
