With its almost 750 m above sea level, the Hochwald, known for its magnificent views, is one of the highest peaks in the Zittau Mountains. So it's not surprising that from the spa town of Oybin it's quite a bit uphill to the Hochwald. Not only from the Hochwald Tower, but in the entire summit region, there are great views of the Zittau Mountains.
The second half of the loop trail inspires with a completely different character and with one of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Zittau Mountains: the Grosse Felsengasse. Imposing, enchanted rock formations line the Grosse Felsengasse, which is walked through in its entirety on this loop trail.
