A tour steeped in history in the Palatinate, Saarland.
This route is a certified premium hiking trail. The hike offers plenty of variety; it leads through forests, past picturesque ponds and up hills from which the views can be enjoyed.
Many cultural and historical monuments are passed along the way.
The route starts at the Vauban fortress of Homburg and leads through the magnificent gardens of Karlsberg Castle, built by Duke Charles II August of Palatinate-Zweibrücken. The castle caves can be visited on a guided tour (advance booking recommended).
The trail can be reached by bus and train and there are many places to stop for refreshments in Homburg.
