Scenic section of the Moselle Cycle Route long-distance cycle path in Rhineland-Palatinate.
Castle enthusiasts will get their money's worth on this stage of the Moselle Cycle Route: the Reichsburg in Cochem, Coraidelstein Castle and Bischofstein Castle are not the only ones on the route. With a small detour along the left bank to Moselkern and from there 4 kilometers up, one of the most beautiful castles in Germany, Castle Eltz, can be visited.
As the railway tracks also follow the course of the Moselle, it is easy to travel to and from the route and some sections can be travelled comfortably by train.
There are places to stop for refreshments and overnight accommodation in the picturesque villages.
