The Gerolsteiner Felsenpfad is one of the Vulkaneifel trails and forms the northern section of the Gerolsteiner-Dolomiten-Acht. As you hike along very natural forest paths lined with mighty rock formations, there are always great views over the Volcanic Eifel and Gerolstein.
The Gerolstein Dolomites, as the rock formations of the Gerolstein limestone basin are collectively known, date back to a shallow sea that existed here around 380 million years ago. Today, the area is a nature reserve.
Note: The rock path is currently not on its original route as the Eselsbrücke bridge is closed indefinitely. The route has been adapted accordingly.
