The round trip begins at the youth hostel in Bad Honnef. The goal is the Asberg, an old quarry for basalt rocks. Now it is a wild area with several water lagoons, a natural habitat for birds and frogs. On the way you climb the Himmerick and visit some forest huts, including the Mäcki hut. Most of the way leads over good and wide forest paths through monoculture and mixed forest areas with a variety of trees, fur, birch, beech and oak. There is a loop around the Asberg, but the access to the overview of the lagoons is not indicated. One has to be careful as the lagoons are the result of deep excavations and are inaccessible due to gorges and chasms. The way back to Bad Honnef leads over the "Eye of God".
