Best trails near Asberg

This annual running event in the Siebengebirge Nature Park goes around Aegidienberg. Perhaps one of the most beautiful marathons of all! It goes up and down through a varied landscape. Every kilometre is different, with beautiful scenery and challenging uphill sections. Although the route is challenging, none of the climbs are too steep and none of the descents are brutal. The event is lovingly and personally organised each year by Tri-Power Aegidienberg.

The round trip begins at the youth hostel in Bad Honnef. The goal is the Asberg, an old quarry for basalt rocks. Now it is a wild area with several water lagoons, a natural habitat for birds and frogs. On the way you climb the Himmerick and visit some forest huts, including the Mäcki hut.
