This is segment 5 of the StauSeeSteig, the last stage runs from Roetgen (D) to the train station of Limburg (B). The route runs through the Hertogenwald Forest, a substantial forest in which the Wesertalsperre reservoir and the Lac de la Gileppe lake are on the route.
The StauSeeSteig is an impressive long-distance hike plotted by the Dutch Mountain Film Festival. The hike is centered on seven German and Belgian reservoirs.
