MTB Westfalenweg-Deilbachtal

This circular mountain bike tour winds its way through the lush Deilbach Valley and explores the historic border area between the Ruhr region and the Bergisches Land. The route leads through Elfringhauser Schweiz, a landscape of steep forest ridges and deep valleys that is often referred to as "Little Switzerland". You can expect a mixture of soft forest ground, gravel paths and occasional technical root passages that require confident cycling skills and physical endurance. The area is a living museum of industrial history with sights such as the Kupferhammer, a copper mill founded in the 16th century, and the historic Deiler Mühle, the oldest preserved watermill in the region. The 360-metre-high masts of the Langenberg transmitter, one of the oldest broadcasting sites in Germany, can be seen from various vantage points. This route offers intensive training in hilly topography and at the same time shows the unique cultural landscape of the Deilbach valley.
