55 Bergisches Land

By bike, transporter ferry, cable car and suspension railway through the Bergisches Land: The route starts at the parking lot of the Mirk train station in Wuppertal. From there it goes on different routes, direction Gräfrath and Solingen. A short detour from the bike path to the tranquil town of Gräfrath offers a short break in the ice cream parlor or in the coffee house. After Solingen there is a long, wooded descent to the Müngstener Brückenpark. There you take the transporter ferry and drive along the Wupper towards Schloss Burg. There you have the opportunity to go up to the castle by bike by cable car. The downhill route should be adapted for normal touring bikes if necessary, because some passages can only be mastered by mountain bike. There is also the possibility of going back down into town by road. Back it goes back along the Wupper towards Müngstener bridge. Before that, it goes uphill with a twelve percent gradient and then steeply downhill to the entrance area of the bridge park. With normal bicycles you should choose the way there with the transporter ferry. The rest of the route leads mostly on a cycle path along the car route, with as little incline as possible to Wuppertal Vohwinkel. And there you go on the suspension railway at the zoo, by bike. You get off at the Ohligser Mühle. From there it goes through the Elberfeld city center, where there are many refreshment stops. Then it goes uphill again over streets to Mirker train station.
