From the National Park Gate in Gemünd, the route climbs for a longer time to Herhahn and the heights of Wollseifen. The route runs for the most part on paved cycle paths of the NRW cycling network and partly leads over gravelled forest paths. Caution: The path from Wolllseifen to the Urftseemauer goes very steeply downhill in two places. It might be necessary to get off the bike here. This section of the trail and also the longer ascent can be ridden on a pedelec. Note: Electric bikes can be hired for this tour at the National Park Gate in Rurberg.
On the way, there are refreshment stops in Einruhr, at the Urft reservoir and in Rurberg.
