This second half of this beautiful route includes trails that may become seasonally overgrown. The forest is alive. Therefore, you should consider in advance whether you want to take a slightly longer detour or - armed with hiking equipment and provisions - embark on the adventure and the associated risks. The hike starts in Blens on Odenbachstraße at the Kölner Eifelhütte. Of course, this hike can also be started from Schmidt (hiking car park).
It goes up through the Odenbach valley to Scheidbaum and further along the country road past the St. Nikolaus youth education center in Rursee in the direction of “Schöne Aussicht”. There you will find the Hubertushöhe vantage point, which offers a wonderful view of the Rursee. Follow the narrow forest path (marker 50) downhill until you come to the Rurseeweg. In Schwammenauel you can take a long break.
