Tour 18: Von Boizenburg durch die Sudeniederung

Scenic and easy cycle route in the Sude lowlands, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern This is a beautiful cycle tour suitable for all fitness levels. The start is at the car park at Boitzenburg/Elbe railway station. The route first heads west along the ramparts to Boitzenburg harbour. It continues along the former German-German border area. The Sude river is crossed on a bridge and the route then goes between the Sude and Elbe with alternating beautiful views. An old border tower is a reminder of the time before reunification. A break can be taken at the observation tower on the Elbe dyke and the marvellous views can be enjoyed. It returns via the Wappauwiesen meadows and past the glider airfield. Stopping off for refreshments is possible in Boizenburg, where ice cream parlours and restaurants await.
