Demanding marathon bike route around Rügen, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania.
This is the route of the Rügen Rund Cycle Marathon. This route leads almost completely around the popular Baltic Sea island with the starting and ending point in Binz. From there it first goes north via Sassnitz, through the Jasmund National Park and on via Glowe, Altenkirchen, Puttgarten and Dranske. It is almost always close along the coast with wonderful views of the Baltic Sea.
Heading south again along the Wieker Bodden, Schaproder Bodden and Kubitzer Bodden through Trent, Dreschvitz, Poseritz. And finally you cycle back to the starting point via Putbus and Bergen.
It is possible that some parts of this route were closed especially for the marathon and are now integrated into normal traffic again.
With the exception of a few steep climbs in the Jasmund National Park, the circuit is technically easy to drive, but can be classified as demanding due to its length.
