The circular hiking trail "In the footsteps of Goethe" leads past the Goethe house via the Gerbermühle, the Goethe tower and the Goetheruh to the Willemer house. The route was once recognized by the magazine of the German People's Sports Association (DVV) as Germany's most beautiful hiking trail in the "City and Culture" category.
