Historical loop in Frankfurt. As the name suggests, this walk follows in the footsteps of Johann Wolfgang Goethe. It starts at the house where he was born and leads to the Gerbermühle, where he was a guest in 1814 and 1815. It goes through fields and to the Oberwald forest with Goetheruh and a marvellous view of Frankfurt from the Goetheturm tower. There is a slight ascent to the Goetheturm. The route is signposted with a portrait of Goethe wearing a large blue hat. The route is mostly on paved and tarmac paths as well as gravel paths.
