The start and finish of this tour is the charming and, with 130 inhabitants, very tranquil town of Leipe. Here, it is worth visiting the local history centre, where exhibits such as traditional clothing and other cultural artefacts provide information about historical and contemporary life in the Spreewald. The route then runs along the typical canals and foothills of the Spree and there are always pleasant places to stop for refreshments along the way, as well as in Lübbenau.
Of course it is also possible to use the rest areas and take some provisions with you.
As there are mosquitoes here in the warmer months due to the abundance of water, mosquito repellent is highly recommended.
