The route begins at Dranser See, west of Wittstock and leads via Zechlin and Rheinsberg first to the Großer Zechlinsee and then on to Fürstenberg / Havel, where the memorial of the former Ravensbrück concentration camp can be visited. Along the numerous lakes in the area, the route continues east, via Joachimsthal and Chorin to Niederfinow, from where you can travel by train.
On the way there are numerous rest stops that can be used if you want to extend the tour to more than a day to visit one of the sights along the way.
